7 Days Postpartum

Time flew so fast!  I survived the first week of being a first time mom!  Of course, with a lot of help from the family.

I could vividly remember, one week ago today, waking up at five in the morning, feeling heavier than my usual pregnant weight struggle.  Went to pee, but noticed a continuously flowing colored liquid, I knew that, that was that,  I heard stories, I read stories.  Good thing that my baby's bag is ready, but mine was not.  So before I told my parents that IT was already the DAY, I went pulling out dresses I could still wear, my maternity pads, underwear and all others.  I kept as calm as possible, called my cousin who is a nurse to tell her about it.  I even drove myself to their house.  I'm not as prepared as I thought I would be, but I always mentally remind myself to just follow instructions.

At around 7 AM:  Cervix was just 2-3 cm dilated, I was sent home and was told to do some walking and squats. Which I did

At around 12 noon,  I was already feeling like I wanted to go to the toilet, every now and then, but couldn't pee or lose some bowel,  my Auntie said, that I'm almost in labor.

At around 1:30 PM  We went to the hospital again,  and was checked, I am already 4-5 cm dilated.  I was put on an IV and my baby was given some stress test.

At around 3 PM, I was already 7 cm dilated, I am mentally prepared for what I'm going through, the pains of labor, expectations and reality.  I was told that I'm going to be placed in labor room at 4 PM.

I was checked at around 430 PM,  doctor's order that I'm going to be induced, 9 cm,  and I was transferred to delivery room.  I was told to push, to breath through my mouth, to push because my baby was on its way out.  I was fully aware. The doctor and nurses were cheering me on.  Push, push, PUUUSSSH! And baby was out,  I instantly heard a cry,  I instinctively close my eyes and whispered, "THANK YOU LORD!".

My baby.  It was surreal,  the one I waited for nine months is finally here.  We were given some moments of skin to skin contact, she was placed on my chest, and she was crying, she was breathing, she was REAL!

And I was put to sleep, because the doctor is still going to fix me. :)

Everyday I am thankful.  Every day I am going to endure all the first things that are happening,  overwhelming, enlightening.  Being a mom.  Being a parent who has to take full responsibility of another human.

Thank you Lord.  Thank you.

Welcoming 2014

The year that was, I tried to be more of myself, excited, girlie, dominating, stern, cheerful, and being a friend to my officemates.  I am coming out of my self.  Positivity.

New year’s resolutions are:

  1. Talk less.
  2. Listen more.
  3. Calm down.
  4. Think.
  5. Start financial planning.
  6. Be consistent.
  7. Love.
  8. Be patient.
  9. Less time on facebook.
  10. Do instagram instead.
  11. Write a blog for every significant experience that comes my way.
  12. Be more productive and creative.

Start the year right; hopeful and goal-oriented.  Cheers!

*I will start writing my bucketlist soon, including those which have been crossed out already.

Like:
  •  travel abroad.
  • sing in front of a crowd
  • drive a manual transmission car
-Should I include getting married in my bucketlist? LOL. No. It's going to certainly happen.

Need.

Still in denial that I am already a medium. Lol, bought a lovely denim dress from ukay-ukay today for P85.00. When I got home and tried it on, it does fit, but I was barely breathing. Haha. I need to lose at least 10 lbs. This should be my thinspiration. Ughs. Like what they all say, it's only hard to start. Diet. Diet. Diet. Exercise. Exercise. Exercise.

now and about...

So I thought of trying to blog again.  It’s just that most of the time I get so lazy and surfing through photos after photos in facebook.

I’m inspired to blog again because of Filipino fashion bloggers, travel bloggers, etc.  It’s kind of love for the good stuff and letting people know about it.  I love colors and girly stuff and right now, I’m into clothes, mostly trendy, but low-priced clothes, which I buy from department stores or from online shops.  Even my boyfriend noticed how my fashion sense has changed; I used to wear just jeans and polo shirt on washday and date nights/days.

Before anything, I need to lose a few pounds, even when gaining weight is acceptable because I’m 30, I still prefer 114 lbs. How do I do that?  HELP!!! How do I lose 12 lbs.?  I love my coffee with milk in it.  I eat unlimited rice per day. I need dedication and will power.

My boyfriend is in Cebu right now for the remaining weeks of his review for the ECE board exam.  He’s currently experiencing “Yolanda”.  There was unified blackout in Cebu since this morning and now he only has remaining power on his mobile phone and pocket wifi device.  He said he’s warm enough.  I hope the weather will be better tomorrow.  I hope there are not that many casualties.  Warning has been around for days, the authorities emphasized the urgency of evacuation earlier.  I hope Atom Araullo is ok.  He was giving live news updates this morning from Tacloban.  God bless the Philippines, especially those areas with great devastation.
